welcome:

Over the years I always considered establishing my own presence on the web, not in the form of free webspace provided by an ISP but my own domain. My little part of the Internet.

As of September 2003 I decided to take the plunge and create my own little world, not particularly for others to view but for my own development - a personal project that won't be marked by teachers or scrutinised by peers.

There will be times I update this page regularly and times I may not touch it for weeks. To be honest I'm not even expecting visitors, after all it's not a terribly exciting page. And to those friends I've given this address to maybe you'll learn something about me you didn't know earlier? Maybe you won't?

The only set of pages constantly updated will be my diary. Will endeavour to add a new entry every couple of days, or even every day. It'll be a collection of life experiences, and of issues I'd like to get off my chest.

So whatever your reason for reading my garbage don't take it too seriously, and if you'd like to contact me then feel free.

about me:

name: Brett Y
age: 31
starsign: Virgo
location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
height: 178cm
weight: A bit too much!
education: Monash University (Engineering)
VUT (Computer Science)
Monash University (Network Computing)

life story:

Upon graduating High School in 1996 I attended Monash University to study Engineering. Like most first year students I chose poorly and after one semester I moved to VUT to study Computer Science. Of course living on the Mornington Peninsula and VUT located in Footscray it was a rather unpleasant train journey. Eventually after three semesters that too was dropped. The following two years were basically spent working and traveling through Europe.

I'm still one of those lost souls who's not really sure what they want out of life. My future ambition is to own my own business dealing with people and technology. While I have enjoyed my working life the idea of working for someone else isn't too appealing. Would love to grow my own business and watch it flourish or watch it fail and learn from it. Whatever happens it's better than making someone else rich through your hard work.

While attempting to achieve these ambitions it's important to squeeze in some relaxation. While the good old fashioned sleepin is always enjoyed there are times when it's important to stretch ones legs. Whether it be a long beach walk, or Rollerblading along St.Kilda Esplanade the outdoors are to be enjoyed. The occasional pub/club isn't such a bad thing providing it's not every single weekend. The idea of seeing a movie or visiting a theatre followed by a visit to a restaurant other than McDonalds is more fulfilling.

Am still living at home. Yeah, dull it is but it's certainly much cheaper than being out in the real world renting. The idea of helping to pay off a strangers house doesn't do anything for me!!! Live here with my parents and sister...and of course Goldie! After traveling some more I might move out, life is easy here!

My first real job was at a Service Station stacking shelves, cleaning bins and working console. That lasted eight months. Next job was at a restaurant: waiting on tables, reception and bar. That job finished when I moved to Germany. Now I'm working for a telecommunications company.

You know I don't really know why I'm writing all this garbage...nobody out there would surely be reading this. But anyway, that is me in a nutshell.
