about time I added something...

Has it really been seven weeks since my last entry? Wow, it really has! I've actually enjoyed the break from typing my ramblings...not that any of this is being read anyway!

I feel that with every entry I'm basically recapping the high/low lights since the last one. Each entry may as well be written in dot-point explaining the things that have occurred. Given that dot-points don't work too well with my current CSS and that I can't be bothered fixing it I'll simply write in paragraph form instead. Should you wish, feel free to place an imaginary dot at the beginning of each of the following paragraphs:

We finally got a doggy! Yes, it has been several years since my beloved Goldie was put down but we've finally got a new four-legged family member crapping wherever he can. For those who don't know we adopted a Poodle x Bichon named Monty. He was 8 weeks when we picked him up a few weeks ago but has since doubled in size. He's a little angel when tired but a bastard when awake! It's wonderful having a dog again. Will upload some of the many thousands of pictures we've taken so far sometime soon and will attach them to this entry.

Folks got the new 4x4. I had never driven a four-wheel-drive before up until they got it...it's so weird sitting up so high! First time I drove it I thought it would roll going around the round-a-bout. I still attempt to sneak it out at every opportunity: if there's milk to be bought or someone to pick up I shotgun! Too many buttons and knobs to push and explore and as yet haven't tried playing a DVD from the back seat. If we had this car eight years ago I would've saved my money to plug a Playstation in the back! Am looking forward to the Olds going overseas towards the end of this year, will have to plan a decent weekend away somewhere!

Uni resumed last week much to my delight. Due to some changes at work I've been managing some shifts and going to Uni was like taking a break from work! Managing shifts has been such a great experience. I'm still amazed at how much managing is like babysitting! Constantly having to tell staff to do things, it's so draining. The night before my first open and close I managed an hours sleep: I was a wreck! I thought of every possible scenario about what would happen during a robbery, a fire etc. etc. etc. It has been a good experience and have a new found appreciation for the role "real" managers play in whatever business they run.

Went to the rugby for the very first time last night: a game between Melbourne Storm and Canberra Raiders. Upon receiving the invite I had mixed feelings because I had no idea of the rules and the whole game as a whole seemed quite foreign. But I admit I had a fantastic time! There is no way I could sit, watch and enjoy a game watching the game on TV but being there is different. The atmosphere, the company, the crowd, the brawl, the beer (yes, I had a beer for the second time in my life!), the victory, the cold, the cheerleaders being mobbed by pre-pubescent boys...ahh...it was so much fun!!! Melbourne winning probably assisted to my enjoyment but I can honestly say I'd love to attend another game.

Have ventured into the world of VoIP at long last. It has been something on the agenda for quite some time given my private landline number is now a dedicated fax number. It was a little frustrating to setup due to my current network setup but once done it worked surprisingly well. I had the idea that calls would become choppy and distorted but the few calls made so far have been perfect. If I didn't tell the callee that the call was routed through the Internet they'd have no idea! Wish I had've VoIP'd things ages ago! Traditional telecommunication companies should be worried.

Girls are still the bane of my existence! For the life of me I can't work them out. They say one thing and do another. One minute you're their best friend, then a week later you're getting the silent treatment for no apparent reason. The following week things are back to normal again like nothing ever happened! Unfortunately for me I lose sleep over this kind of stuff wondering why things are the way they are. I need that Mel Gibson ability in "What Women Want" - just one day with that super-power is all I need!!! I try my hardest to be likable but sometimes that doesn't seem enough. I still think people dislike me.

Received a letter a fortnight ago from the Jury Commissioner! Yep, I've been one of the lucky 150,000 Victorians to be selected this year for Jury Duty. Damn it, why could I be as lucky with a Lotto ticket? Could say that I've been pre-selected there is of course no guarantee that I'll sit on a Jury. Kinda hoping that I am selected because it's something different. I hopefully won't be selected for a long case, would be happy with a one-dayer just so I can say it's something I've done.
