second entry as a thirty year-old...

What a wonderful couple of weeks with the US election being won by Barack Obama. I probably paid more attention to this election than our own federal election last year. Our telecast began at 11am and I'm almost embarrassed to admit I tuned in at that time until the result was announced seven hours later. I paid close attention to media coverage around the globe and numerous blogging sites too, I honestly can't recall anybody hoping that McCain/Palin would win. This isn't just a win for America and Obama but also the rest of the world who's glad to see the end of the Bush Administration.

How's the current price of petrol? Loving it! Not that I fill up regularly but when it only costs $40 to fill up rather than $55 it's a good thing! Prices are now expected to drop to below $1 per litre before Christmas...loving that too! Speaking of Christmas I see retailers have started with the Christmas promotions and merchandising already...IT'S STILL NOVEMBER DAMN IT! I hate this time of year. There is no real meaning to Christmas anymore, it's all about commercialisation. But hey, it's a day off so it's not all bad!

Cricket season has begun again. Yet to look at the one-day'ers at the G but count me in already. Don't even know which three teams are playing this year. Going by Australia's current form they'll probably lose...which is okay because even if they do lose it still means I get a day away from work!

This weekend meteorologists are expecting flooding in Gippsland. We were flooded out the first time in the late 80s and was told it was a once in a century flood. Then five years later was flooded out again. Now it may seem a decade later flooded a third time! Awesome! I miss cleaning out mud, looking forward to doing it again!

In regards to my weight loss journey I've noticed a slipping back into bad habits. Over the last two months I haven't lost or gained any weight. While it's a bit disappointing I'm still eleven kilograms lighter than when I started so I should be happy with that. With that I have also noticed a general change in attitudes too: I'm getting caught up in the things I should be saying "fuck it" to. It's funny how attitudes and feelings happen to all coincide with weight issues.

An ex-colleague and I are in the process of setting up our own web company, with a third person who's a bit of a whiz at graphics and stuff! We have a few ideas currently on the table and have started development on a couple. It's turning out to be a pretty daunting task. If things don't work on a site like this it's no big deal, but with the ones currently being developed uptime is more important...so too privacy and security. Has been a pretty good learning experience so far, but when they go live I'm sure we'll learn a whole lot more! I will post further details soon.

Moved the Wii into my room this week and have been playing it more than ever before. I'm not much of a gamer whether PC or console, I've had the Wii for about five months now and prior to this week have used it for approximately ten hours all up. I started playing Super Mario Galaxy when I first got it but put it on the back burner until now. Oh my god what a stunning game it is, everything about it is simply perfect and the soundtrack is beautiful. If you've got a Wii and don't have this game go buy it. In fact, if you don't have a Wii go buy a Wii just to get this game! It's difficult enough to make you frustrated at times, but easy enough to keep you interested. Love it!!!
