not so lucky anymore...

March 22, 2009

I cannot find my 'lucky socks' anywhere! I'm pretty sure Monty hasn't done a runner and buried them out the yard somewhere! I've had those socks for almost eight years...eww I hear you say! I've worn those socks on every first date...which explains why they're still like new even after all these years! I'm the least superstitious person around and don't believe in any of that stuff but I thought it was pretty funny to wear these every time - not that they worked because some first dates didn't go too well!!!

My resignation letter is currently doing the rounds of my ex-employer. Will be interesting to see if I receive any phone calls back from anybody important who wishes to discuss my revelations. Fortunately if a call is made or a meeting organised I won't have to worry about saying all the right things...what are they going to do, dismiss me?!!

Today was a day of look-alikes. I did some shopping and saw a spitting image of Rod Stewart and another of Joan Kirner!!! I won't bother creating a Wiki link for Rod because everybody knows him already!

I've seen some shit movies recently! Have downloaded...err...hired a movie called Transmorphers. To ensure it was legit I viewed approximately thirty random seconds of the movie and I couldn't believe how bad it looked and this was only after thirty seconds. Can't say I'm too enthused about enduring the remaining ninety minutes! It was bad, really bad.

Tomorrow is the day I've been dreading. Will update this entry again tomorrow assuming I survive my dental appointment. It's my first such appointment in nineteen years and I'm absolutely petrified. Some people are scared of snakes and spiders but seriously, give me spiders any day of the week! My phobia is all thanks to Jack. As kids Jack was our dentist and he still haunts my dreams and to this day still makes my hair stand on end. I remember him as being this old, gray haired man that looked like a mad scientist. I also remember being forcefully removed from the car after arriving at his surgery. Jack caused some permanent damage to mum's teeth which was only recently repaired by the dentist I'm seeing tomorrow morning.

I will miss you Amanda and Jessi (especially Amanda!), good luck whatever it is you'll get up to!!! Thankfully I still have Caroline to keep me company once a week!

Update: Well the dental appointment was a bit of a fizzer. Got there for my 9am appointment and the place was empty. Sat in the car for five minutes and the receptionist turned up apologising for being late and informing me she just found out the Dentist has called in sick! After a night of no sleep I now get to experience another sleepless night Tuesday as appointment was rescheduled for Wednesday morning. Will update again on Wednesday.

Update: Appointment over. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and in all honesty I feel a bit of a wuss putting off a dental appointment for a long as I have. As I type I'm sporting a fat lip and half a numb face. Last appointment twenty years ago I was drooling thanks to the anesthetic so this time wasn't so bad! I had two fillings and a pin inserted where my tooth chipped off...and the usual clean and polish. Next appointment will be towards the end of the year, I'll stick to it because as I've discovered it's no big deal.
