my eyes, my eyes, they're burning...

Fucking group work. As I type this our assignment is due in fourteen hours. The other two haven't done *ANYTHING*. We had a meeting about two weeks ago and I've heard nothing. I started last week and sent an email Friday detailing what I've done and what they'd need to do...no reply. I'm really over it. I've put about twelve hours into the assignment so far and I'm not doing any more. I honestly don't give a shit what happens now, I'm furious. I'm looking forward to seeing Dumb and Dumber today, I'll even try to pass the assignment off as my own because they've done nothing so why should they get any credit?
Had some fun with power Friday night: the safety switch tripped and everything went out just before midnight. Went out to reset and it lasted ten seconds before tripping again. Had a play with the other circuits and power would remain on for a few seconds then trip yet again. Stupid me should've turned all my computer equipment off because the whole time my room would light up, printers would start, modem would seek a connection, router would try to connect to modem, phones on, VoIP adapter...then all shut off again...probably not good! After isolating the fault to another circuit in the house (in particular the dishwasher) I retreated to my room to continue my midnight downloads and nothing...poor modem fried! Called Optus who said it's a fault definitely their end, technicians are currently looking at the problem and they're currently receiving lots of calls about the same thing...should be fixed tomorrow. I got up in the morning and still no connection so I called again. This time was told the modem is faulty. Anyway, this switched on consultant sent around a tech later that afternoon. He arrived, replaced my ten year old modem with a new one and things are cool bananas again. I don't understand what's wrong with Optus, they used to be good but now they just lie. They completely ignored my last written complaint so much for resolving within fourteen days. And for the sake of search engines: Optus lie. Optus mislead. Optus suck. Optus have no fucking idea. Avoid Optus. ACA Optus. Optus worse than Telstra. Optus complaint. Optus offshore dodgy.
Have I written about how pissed off I am about this group assignment? That's why I'm writing this entry, need something to sorta get my mind off things. I'll be thinking about this all night...no sleep for me.
Checked my exam time table earlier today: 17, 24 & 26 June. Holidays run from end of this week through until July 20. I'm actually nervous about these holidays because I don't have a job! Usually holidays meant extra stress and a break from nothing...this year I'll kinda be twiddling my thumbs. It'll be seven weeks off. Over the Christmas break I was still technically employed but not working: returning to that shit-hole and resigning was always in the back of my mind, this break I don't have that worry. But what the hell am I going to do? I wonder if any gyms do a month-by-month membership? A much reduced budget means I won't be able to splurge like I've done previous years and sitting infront of the computer for seven weeks will drive me insane. Hmm...will have to think of some smaller things to get up to.
Caught the train home today (I'm writing this in two parts, the 1am part and another at 5pm) and as we got off there was one chick walking a few meters infront wearing the shortest skirt I've ever seen in my life...the bottom of her bottom was visible! It would've been like Christmas had she not been five foot tall and 130kgs! It's an image that'll be forever burned into my retinas!
Would it be safe to assume I'm no longer in the good books when calls, SMS and emails have gone unanswered for four months?!! Either that or someone has found a boyfriend and doesn't have the need for Brettley anymore!!! Oh well, shit happens!
So much for demonstrating our assignment one guy didn't turn up. According to the other runt he's having some issues with his Visa and is currently being held by the Immigration Department. They should send him back for being a prat. We'll now be demonstrating on Friday.
On another note received a call from Telstra following up on a complaint lodged in February (well done guys!) which by this time I'd forgotten about. Was in regards to difficulties setting up my BlackBerry and how I ended up being $344 out of pocket. Anyway, was reimbursed this amount. At least Telstra follow up on complaints...eventually (pay attention Optus).
