pop pop pop pop yuck...

The past fortnight has been like a trip down memory lane with the 'Hey Hey it's Saturday' specials going to air. Was like putting on an old pair of slippers - they show was just as it was a decade ago. The jokes were still lame, the antics silly, Daryl is still a tool but it worked and was great fun. Hopefully they bring the show back on a more permanent basis next year. And the show last night completely changed my opinion of Harry Connick - what a moron. Completely blown out of proportion and I'm sick of having to make excuses and apologies for Americans. If that twat didn't complain it wouldn't be making news today. Go back to the states and stay there.

A close family friend passed away last week. Not entirely a surprise but still sad when it happens. Aunty Rosalie was our neighbour for the fifteen-odd years, I have memories of being babysat by her and spending some mornings at her place before school watching Leave it to Beaver and Mr.Ed. I remember all her cats and dogs too, pretty funny when they were even mentioned during the funeral service! When my adoption was approved she organised mum's babyshower! Mum and Rosalie remained close friends for longer than I've been around. Happy memories, sadly missed.

Brettley's finely tuned bullshit detector has had a busy couple of weeks. I don't know whether it's this time of year or what but others seem to be telling a bit more bullshit than usual! I particularly find it amusing when they think their bullshit has fooled me, I tend to go along with it acting all gullible but I know the truth!

I hate this time of semester, all assignments are due. They're keeping me pretty busy and was up until 5am this morning finishing two off which are due tomorrow. I can't believe I finished them a day earlier, usually I'd be working on them until an hour before being due! One more group assignment due next week and that's it until exams. At least this group is awesome, two other really good guys which is nice for a change.

Had a bit of a craving for popcorn lately. Not sure why, I never buy the stuff! Anyway bought some Uncle Toby's a few days ago and followed the cooking instructions. I was to unfold the packet, cook for 2:30 (the instructions were clear not to overcook). Being me I set the microwave for 2:40 just to be on the safe side. Time passes, open and pour contents of bag into plastic bowl and noticed half the kernel's hadn't popped. Enjoyed the half that had popped and tossed the rest. Attempted the second bag this time zapping for 4:30. This time much more popping action. Opened and emptied into bowl and a quarter hadn't popped and those which did tasted burned. Our microwave met all the power requirements. Bought a different brand (Greens) and followed their instructions and they turned out perfectly. Think Toby will get a letter...their product was utter shit.

For the first time ever I wrote to Microsoft Support requesting advice on a problem with Outlook 2007. I must say despite all the shit Microsoft cops their support is wonderful. A reply in eight hours, detailed step-by-step solution, what to do if it doesn't work and the offer of further personalised assistance if required. I don't know where in the world you are CK but thank you!

Was looking forward to an early night but realised I have an episode of FlashForward to watch and a Hell's Kitchen. Missed the first episode of the Aussie 'Secret Millionaire' so hopefully it appears on BitTorrent later on. Enjoyed the UK version, I think the US version was more about rich folk massaging their egos (especially the second episode I think it was with the young 'Asian' looking guy). Loving the new seasons of House, Lie to Me, Amazing Race, Mentalist and Biggest Loser. Still way behind in Fringe and Dollhouse. Oh, Survivor Samoa (s19), gotta love Russell!!!
