heads down, bums up...

Exam time again. Nuff said.

Three exams scattered over the next three weeks. It's nice to have a decent break between them but I'd prefer to get them out of the way so I can regain having a life. Three exams means three more trips on the train then I can enjoy a break from the tri-weekly journeys until next year. Which is a shame because I was looking forward to enjoying the spoils of the billion dollar Myki system. I was really excited about the prospect of waving my card over an RFID reader before passing through the turnstiles. It sounded like so much fun. Oh, and for those who can't quite detect sarcasm...bloody waste of money that project has been.

I had written a nice entry but stupid me typed it into the browser then I went to visit a site without realising, the back button didn't work so now I'm having to retype the whole thing. Now I'm using Notepad.

In dad's infinite wisdom he decided to uncover an old tennis racquet to assist in hitting Monty's ball that little bit further around the yard. Unfortunately these super bouncy balls have a tendency to disappear over the neighbour's fence. First time I was able to retrieve the ball from the neighbour's yard by jumping the fence. I must be getting older because that six foot fence seemed a whole lot higher on my way down to the pavers. My poor ankles weren't too impressed. Second time the ball flew over the neighbour was home, given he's an old German guy I didn't want to find out if he has any secretive Nazi past by stepping foot into his yard...and despite living there for a while the German accent still kinda scares me! Currently two of Monty's balls remain over the fence where they shall stay. I doubt Gunter (or whatever his name is!) will toss them back.

In my last entry I mentioned my experiences in installing Windows 7. Well I'm now reluctant to report than I'm a little more converted than I was a few days ago. Overall it seems a bit faster than Vista but I put that down to not having as much crap installed. The Start Menu stills sucks balls but I'm slowly getting used to it aided by some tweaks blogged by those also experiencing some pain with Microsoft's new baby. There's a few other things which annoy me but in time I'll adjust, accept and if they shit me enough I'll go back to Vista.

Is it just me or everybody noticing a sudden increase in junk email advertising Oxycodone and Vicodin? Are the senders of these unsolicited messages attempting to tell me something? So far I've resisted the urge to take them up on breast enhancements and penis extensions...my moobs are fine thank you for asking!

Currently in the process of obtaining quotes to replace the fence running along the side of the house. We've had four quotes and the difference between cheapest and most expensive is a bit over $1900. The difference is even more than the cheapest! I'm surprised how some businesses still operate.

I just entered the caption to this entry ('Heads Down, Bums up...') and remembered that game we played in Primary School: Heads down, thumbs up. Life was awesome back then! Looking back I think teachers loved the game too because we were quiet for a few minutes!

Am I the only one who gets shocking migraines after drinking Pepsi Max? I bought it for something different and like all previous times an hour later I feel like my head is being bashed against a wall. Evil stuff.

Thank you VicRoads for my car registration. There is nothing more I enjoy more than having to pay $612.30 for what's basically a new front windscreen sticker.
