photo album: Tsunami Appeal

In a bid to raise some much needed donations for Asia, the Australian Cricket Board organised a fund-raising game between the World XI (made up of players from Australia, New Zealand, England, West Indies) and Asia XI (Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka). The event was telecast to all corners of the Globe being seen by a few hundred million people. Here are a few of my photos from this event.

Outside Gate 1

Waiting outside Gate 1 for Sara, the crowd was slowly starting to build

Back-to-Front

This guy in front of was wearing his t-shirt back-to-front for most of the game. Was only towards the end he disappeared and returned with a few beers and his shirt the right way. Guess mummy didn't dress him this morning!
Dusk in Melbourne

Flying Condoms

The highlight of the day is always the crowd, condoms are seen floating in the breeze
Our flying Kangaroo

These guys were seen earlier celebrating by waving their inflatable kangaroo, by this time of night after a few beers they decide to throw Skippy around
Our flying Kangaroo

Don't think Skippy has ever jumped so high
Our flying Kangaroo

What goes up must come down. Poor Skippy was hit over the balcony to the lower levels where he continued to be whacked around before being confiscated
Attendance

The official attendance: 70,101. Total donation made as a result of this event almost reached $15 million.
Lap of Honor

The "Rest of the World XI" won the game but all players did the traditional lap of honor
